Arrival and departure times
- Arrival between 1pm-7pm
- Note: Gear to Pitch paid buggy service is not available after 7pm.
- Departure by 12noon
Please phone the contact number if you think you may be later than 7pm. Late pitching disturbs other campers.
Space allocation
- Groups are welcome, but please decide a “group name” before booking so we know you’ll be camping together.
- We only reserve forest glades for groups of 4 families or more and we do our best to accommodate your desired location choice, but reserve the right to allocate groups of a larger size to the larger glades.
- Please email if you group is larger than 8 families to check for availability first.
- Each family is allocated a 5x6m space and your tent including guylines must fit within this space..
- A gazebo is allowed (fee applies).
- Larger tents may require a double area space allocation, but if in doubt please ask!
- All tents must be pitched 4 meters from any fire pit for your own and others safety.
- Please pitch 6 meters away from neighbouring tents which are not part of your group.
- And always remember to be polite to your neighbours by keeping noise and spread to minimum.

Cancellation and refunds
- Booking requires payment in full (unless stated otherwise).
- Cancellation with 30 days notice and above – 85% refund of full amount.
- Cancellation of 15 – 29 days notice – 50% refund of full amount
- Cancellation under 14 days notice – no refund
- COVID (Virus) specific policy: If the government impose further travel restrictions for overnight stays (or national lock down), all full paid pitch fees will be offered a holiday date transfer (all transfer dates must be within the same calendar year of the cancellation date) or the option to receive 85% of fees refunded (15% withheld to cover admin and fees). Any pitch fees paid less than 15% will not receive a refund.
- If you or a member of your group need to ‘self isolate’ and for safety reasons you wish to cancel your booking, our standard cancellation policy applies. We would therefore advise that you have travel insurance in place to safeguard your holiday costs.
Changing your holiday dates
- Date transfers are not available with less than 28 days notice .
- Transfers are at our discretion and pending availability for the deferred date.
- A fee of £10 per pitch booking is due for any date transfers.
- One date transfer per booking.
- Original date (if earlier) is preserved if requesting a cancellation after a transfer.
- £30 super late (within 4 weeks of booking) date change fee (at management discretion)
Fire wood availability
- Firewood, kindling and charcoal can be purchased from reception by the bag.
- It is not necessary to pre-order, we always keep a large stock of kindling, hardwood logs and charcoal available.
- Please note: We have a zero tolerance policy on burning any wild wood from the forest. You will be asked to leave
- immediately without refund if you are found foraging and burning any of the forest dead wood.
- These are habitats for the woodland creatures and insects and must be left in the woodland.
Parking and vehicles
- Parking is extremely limited and we ask for only 1 vehicle per booking.
- All parking is located along the central track and no unauthorised vehicles are allowed into the camp ground.
- Wheelbarrows are available at reception for helping you with your gear. We ask you to return these as soon as possible for other campers to use. These are free to use.
- We also have a site vehicle with low impact tyres which can take a large load of equipment and two passengers for a single journey. This service has a charge (see the Prices tab)
- Please contact us if you think you’ll have more than 1 car. Additional cars can be brought only if our site is not at full occupancy and under special arrangement.
- Guests with extra vehicles on site are also under special arrangement and if allowed we limit 1 extra guest car per booking.
Safety Tips for Campfires
- Only adults to light and refuel the fire
- Keep your fire small
- Do not use flammable liquids to ignite or keep your fire burning
- Stack extra firewood upwind and away from the fire
- Always supervise children and dogs around the campfire
- Never run around your campfire – walk slowly and carefully
- Do not leave your campfire unattended. Even a small breeze could quickly cause the fire to spread
- Teach children to stop and drop and roll if their clothing catches fire
- Always plan for an emergency. We recommend having 2 fire buckets full of water near your fire.
- Buckets are available for sale from reception.
